Collection: New Art Project by Yakushev Brothers

“Heavy Interpretation” by the Yakushev Brothers - Anton and Pavel - is an artistic exploration that constructs an alternative history of art.

At the core of the series lies a dialogue with artists from different eras — from celebrated masters to lesser-known figures whose imagery and artistic gestures are reimagined through the distinctive visual language of the Yakushev Brothers. These works are neither copies nor reconstructions, but autonomous interpretations in which the past is transformed through material, texture, and the passage of time.

Existing at the intersection of painting and sculpture, the works unite metal, pigment, and the patina of age into a singular sculptural statement. Oxidized surfaces, the physical weight of iron, layered textures, and deliberately weathered elements evoke the presence of an artifact from another artistic reality — an alternative history in which classical imagery continues to exist in a new form.

Each work is produced in a strictly limited edition of one or three numbered pieces, emphasizing both its uniqueness and its value as a collectible artwork.
